Hun eerste optreden is een studentenfeest in Wageningen. Een nerveuze start voor een befaamde carrière! Booz’n Blues ontwikkelt zich snel; onervaren muzikanten veranderen in een geoliede bühne-eenheid met het vermogen om ieder optreden tot een knallende avond om te bouwen. Deze kerels weten wat feesten is! De band slaagt erin met een uitgebreid repertoire een nog steeds groeiende internationale bekendheid op te bouwen. “De kracht van de band ligt verscholen in het feit dat de heren er live geen doekjes om winden en werkelijk alles uit de kast halen”, citeert een krant uit de regio. De band deelt podia met o.a. Blues’n Trouble, Normaal, Julian Sas, Guy Forsyth en Gov’t Mule. Na bijna 20 jaar heeft de band nog steeds niet aan kracht ingeboet. Een optreden van Booz’n Blues staat nog steeds garant voor een feestelijke avond! Plezier op de bühne is blijft hun uitgangspunt: ieder optreden opnieuw weten ze het publiek met hun bluesvirus te infecteren! “Downstairs you’ll find the booz, upstairs I hope we will bring you the Blues” is de lijfspreuk van frontman John Jeukens met zijn krachtige stem en onvervalste enthousiasme. Zijn broer Rob’s harmonica neemt de kippenvel veroorzakende harmonica partijen voor zijn rekening. De kundige vingers van Roger Quax weten zijn Stratocaster de meeslepende ballads of swingende guitarrifs te ontlokken. De “Greenhorn of the Band”, bassist Maurice Delnoy zorgt voor de strakke ritmesectie, samen met drummer Silvio Souren die tot één van de besten in de zuidelijke percussiewereld mag worden gerekend. Roy Dautzenberg completeert de band met zijn subtiele en gepassioneerde Fendersound.
Englisch Bandname: Booz'n Blues 1987: two colleagues discover their shared passion for blues music. As they appease their blues hunger by visiting festivals and concerts the blues virus nests so deep, they know there is only one remedy: play their own music! Six “infected” friends pick up their instruments and start rehearsing. Their first gig is a student farewell party in Wageningen, a jittery start for a renowned career! Booz’n Blues quickly develops; inexperienced musicians transfer into a powerful stage unity, able to turn every gig into a true feast. Those boys know how to party! They manage to construct an extensive repertoire and soon they establish international fame. “The power of this band lies in the fact that live, Booz’n Blues does not beat about the bush; they play as if their lives are depending on it!” is just one of the quotes in a regional newspaper. The band shares stages with Blues’n Trouble, Normaal, Julian Sas, Guy Forsyth, Gov’t Mule and others. Now, after almost 20 years on stage, this band still has not lost any of its power. An evening with Booz’n Blues still guarantees an evening of fun! Their own base, having fun on stage remains a key issue: every gig these boys know how to infect their audience with their own blues virus! “Downstairs you’ll find the booz, upstairs I hope we will bring you the Blues” is thé buzzword for frontman John Jeukens with his powerful voice and authentic enthusiasm while his brother Rob’s harmonica evokes goose bumps to every skin. The very skilful fingers of guitarist Roger “Guitarkiller” Quax are able to tickle his Stratocaster into the most compelling ballads or swinging guitarrifs. Bass player Maurice ”Greenhorn” Delnoy takes care of the tight heartbeat of the band, together with drummer Silvio Souren, who is known as one of the best drummers in the southern bluesworld. Roy Dautzenberg completes Booz’n Blues with his subtle and passionate Fendersound.
